The first league game against our friends from Mopsies Park - I will keep it brief as there is one word that really describes our performance on Saturday but as this is a family website I unfortunately am not allowed to print it - but those players that featured in the 1st team on Saturday need to improve and quickly.
Highlights from the day started when Webby arrived 20 minutes late for the meet which is not bad and the first excuse was he had been to get new cricket spikes - the Mcdonalds he was chomping on in Hunts scorebox looked to be another reason as to why he was late.
Webby's form in the warm up was equally impressive when he managed to miss Wilko's gloves on every one of his throw ins and dropped two catches...surely it couldn't get any worse.....in true pantomine style (which summed up Saturday) oh yes it does......Webby then preceeded to hit the best shot of the day from our innings and managed to try and lap doggy for the third and then ran himself out.... - NOT NOW...!!!
Doggy caught the disease and he then proceed to run himself out when he looked in no trouble at all.....and the innings was never going to recover from 35-3, it took a patient 58 from Fazial and some good work from James Woollard on debut to get us to 4 points.
When we took the field we were in the words of an ex England coach " Flippin Murdered" (slightly tweaked I know) - Sangani and Gray hit the ball all round the park and we had no answers....as a team we must learn from their bowlers and apply pressure by putting the ball in the same spot for 6 balls an over and not one or 2.
I look forward to seeing a better performance against what will be the strong batting outfit of Horndon on Saturday.
