After an excellent win in the first game of the season, the BCC U16 lads went into the next game with high hopes of causing an upset against Bishops Stortford. However those hopes slipped away as their batsman set about punishing the bad ball away to the short boundary. With their openers putting on an opening partnership of 89, there were 2 quick wickets as both the openers went within 3 runs of each other leaving them 92-2. Whilst there were wickets for Chris, Adam, Alex and 2 wickets on debut for Callum they re-grouped and managed to get to 237-6 in the 40 overs.

With a target of 238 to win, Benfleet needed a good start but with Alex out and the score on just 4 we were under considerable pressure from the start.
contributions from gavin, jack and chris only really improved the scorecard of what was a rather heavy defeat.
But great team spirit again meant that the team were not too disheartened with the loss and looking forward to the next game!!
